"Capitalism Will Survive"

Clinton trumpThe saying “time heals all wounds” doesn’t tend to apply when we look at investor fears regarding political shifts. It seems no matter how much time passes, investors have a concern that something horrible might happen to the markets and the economy every time there is big political news.

Here’s the truth: the Great Depression of the 1930’s is not likely to occur again and the market corrections we may see in the future will have more to do with the pendulum swings of capitalism than with who happens to be sitting in the oval office. The article below from The Wall Street Journal provides an interesting narrative on how and why the Great Depression lasted as long as it did and why something like that is highly unlikely in our current economic system. Though no pundits seem particularly thrilled about either candidate, the fact of the matter is that “Capitalism Will Survive.”
